Nice
The Baie des Anges, the Promenade and Port Lympia — destination and gateway both, backed by the Alps.
The capital of the Riviera
Nice curves around the Baie des Anges, its Promenade des Anglais and pastel old town backed by the foothills of the Alps. Port Lympia is the city's working harbour, and the bay offers an open anchorage with one of the great urban backdrops in the Mediterranean.
For a yacht, Nice is both a destination and a gateway: a coastal run from Cannes passes Antibes and the Cap before opening into the bay, and the city's international airport makes it the natural embarkation point for many charters. Anchor off the Promenade, come ashore for the old town and the market on Cours Saleya, then push on toward Villefranche and the Cap Ferrat.
Many week-long charters begin or end here, stepping straight from the airport to the quay. As a day destination from Cannes it pairs the open bay with the depth of a real city — markets, museums and the old town all a tender ride away.
Can I charter a yacht from Cannes to Nice?
Yes — Nice and the Baie des Anges make an easy day by yacht from Cannes, eastward past Antibes and the Cap d'Antibes. From the water the long sweep of the Promenade des Anglais and the old town backed by hills is one of the finest city approaches on the coast, and Villefranche-sur-Mer just beyond offers one of the deepest, most sheltered natural bays on the Riviera — a superb spot to anchor and swim. Nice is also a common starting or finishing point for charters, with its airport close by, so some guests join or leave a yacht here. A day charter can cruise the bay, anchor off Villefranche for lunch and return to Cannes, while a longer trip uses Nice as a gateway to the eastern Riviera and Monaco.
